I’m Melinda Miletta, a textile designer from Helsinki, Finland.
My style is playful and graphic. Bold colors, contrasts and clear shapes are close to my heart. Sketching by hand is inherent to me and I think the hand-drawn line is much more soulful than being made on a computer. The sight of the handprint gives a personal touch and warmth to the patterns. I often sketch with markers and ink, and paint with watercolors and gouache.
I get inspired by nature and its small wonders. As I wander around in the wild, I explore not only the beautiful landscape but also details such as the surfaces of a tree trunk and various bird species. The diverse shapes and deep hues of plants and animals inspired me as a designer. Also, the atmospheres and contrasts of various weather and light phenomena, and the resulting colour palettes of nature, fascinate me and make my creativity bloom.
When working on projects, I stick to the schedule and am proud of it. I like working both independently and as a part of a team. I take customer needs into account in everything I do and I am a reliable co-worker.
Sustainability is important to me and I want to be involved in building a more ecological textile industry and invent even better ways to promote the circular economy. Together we can make the world more beautiful and cozy - respecting the Earth and nature.
